With the conclusion of the academic year came the end of our “Steadfast” chapel series in the book of James. As I prepared for each of these messages, I was challenged in my own personal study with the difference between genuine faith and false faith, mature faith and immature faith. James gives us a measuring stick with which we can evaluate our own spiritual walk.
But, this last section of James turns the focus to the straying brother or sister. How do we to respond when a believer is walking away from their faith? Do we push them away with prideful arrogance and a feeling of superiority? Or are we truly broken over another’s sin because we love them as we love ourselves?
James instructs us to be on a search and rescue mission, lovingly seeking to bring a lost brother back to the faith. Join us as we conclude our Steadfast series in James 5:19-20.
