On September 11 in chapel, we honored Pete Reese for his 29 years of service to Cedarville and enjoyed an afternoon reception to celebrate his retirement. You can’t think about athletics or athletic facilities at Cedarville without thinking about Pete. He has served in roles ranging from Athletic Director from 1998 to 2008, to Head Men’s Baseball Coach from 1989-91, to his current role of Supervisor of Outdoor Athletic Facilities since 2008. As a student, Pete was a dominant force on the Cedarville Yellow Jackets basketball teams from 1956 to 1960. In 1984, he became a charter member of the Cedarville University Athletic Hall of Fame and his number 43 was retired by the Hall in 2005. Each year, a male and female Yellow Jacket senior athlete is honored with the Pete and Joyce Reese Award, named in honor of Pete and his wife, Joyce, who is also a Cedarville Hall of Famer. Thanks, Pete, for your inspiring performance as a player, your dedication as a coach, and your faithful service leading Cedarville Athletics. We ask God’s abundant blessings on Joyce and Pete as they enter this next phase of life and ministry.
