Who am I? Who are you? What is our true identity? There are many things that explain us — our gender, race, hobbies, career, family status — but those things don’t define us. Identity is defined as “the distinguishing character or personality of an individual,” so as followers of Jesus Christ, our true identity can be found only in the One who made us and gave His life for us. Our identity must be found “In Christ.”
Yesterday, we looked at Ephesians 1:3-14, examining the many blessings that the Apostle Paul finds from being “in Christ.” Our heavenly Father chose us before the creation of the world to be His adopted sons and daughters. Like Paul, we should rejoice in our new name and our new position in God’s family.
